•  Home Owners Insurance Rates Way Up

Did you just get your renewal for your home owners insurance and noticed a doubling of your premium? And upon further investigation found that your Neskowin Home is now classified as "Unprotected" when it comes to fire protection?

This "Unprotected" classification may be the result of our community's ISO Rating. This rating, issued by the Insurance Standards Organization, is used by many insurance companies to determine an area’s level of fire risk and fire protection and resultant insurance premiums.

What to do? Talk to your insurance agent or broker. There are a number of insurance companies that do no set their premiums by the community's ISO rating alone and take an abundance of fire hydrants, a fire house in very close proximity and a competent fire crew into consideration.
